Amazing carre in twill silk, Made in France by Hermes, model Le songe de Poliphile by Michel Duchene in 1998.
The Songe de Poliphile , published in 1546, is the adaptation by Jean Martin of the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili of Francesco Colonna, published in Venice in 1499. Divided into two books, this work tells the search of Poliphile which is looking for his beloved Polia in a landscape of antique ruins, palaces and temples. This allegorical course, which ends in the contemplation of Venus in the gardens of an ideal Cithera, remains to be interpreted. One can see there a free reconstitution of the "mysteries of love" about which Diotime spoke in the Banquet. The book II evokes the annoyed idyll of the protagonists in the Trevise of the Quattrocento.
It will come with its original thick crispy silk touch!
