Marvelous green/black palette for this great Hermès shawl 140 cm called La danse du cheval Marwari designed by Annie Faivre in 2008. This shawl has the white 'painting" Matte Blanc effect on different parts of the horses witch is researched by the collectors (see pics). Superb!
Marwari, or Malani, is an ancient breed of horse from the Marwar region in the state of Rajasthan, India. The Marwari was a warrior mount for the Rathore rulers of Marwar, including the war horse of Pratap Singh, Chetak. Selective breeding of these horses may have begun in the early 12th century. The animals were highly prized by the Rathore who esteemed them for their stamina, bravery and loyalty. The head is refined, wide between the eyes and usually with a straight profile. The most distinguishing features of the Marwari horse are its lyre-shaped ears, which curve inward and often appear to meet at the tips.
Don't miss it, just fabulous and researched!
