The passade and the serpentine are two dressage figures that consist in creating geometrical patterns on the ground, generally circles or semi-circles. These techniques allow the rider to work on the horse's flexibility and to help perfect its paces. Virginie Jamin, inspired by the illustrations of a 17th-century German equestrian treatise, invites us in this double-sided carre to an unusual ballet where, on the edge of a castle estate surrounded by trees, riders rehearse equestrian figures.
