Lovely Hermes scarf in silk twill with hand-rolled edges (100% silk), model La Folle Parade
This young French illustrator creates her first scarf, expressing her whimsical world on silk. This Folle Parade, "an enchanting masquerade straight out of a toy box full of wonders", was inspired by an 18th-century engraving depicting a carnival float in Rome. Humor, fantasy, and a touch of madness emerge from this composition. The float in the center is surmounted by turrets and pulled by a disguised, masked horse. A multitude of strange and humorous tableaux play out around the edges, with wheels, architectural features, masks, tortoises, men with animals' heads, and jacks-in-the-box all busying themselves, frolicking around in constant motion.

C’est une gravure du XVIIIe siècle représentant un char du carnaval de Rome qui lui a inspiré cette Folle Parade, une « mascarade enchanteresse, tout droit sortie d’un coffre à jouets merveilleux ». L’humour, la fantaisie et un brin de folie se dégagent de cette composition. Au centre, un char est surmonté de tourelles et tiré par un cheval déguisé et masqué. Une multitude de saynètes étranges et cocasses se succèdent tout autour : des roues, des éléments d’architecture, des masques, des tortues, des hommes à têtes d’animaux, des diables surgissant de leur boîte, s’affairent, s’amusent et tournent sans fin.
