An exceptional and highly sought-after Hermès Brandebourgs cashmere and silk shawl, designed by Caty Latham.

Originally created in 1972, Brandebourgs is one of the great classics of the Hermès scarf repertoire. The design was inspired by an album of historic military uniforms, insignia and accessories preserved in the Émile Hermès collection. At its center is a magnificent ceremonial jacket richly adorned with elaborate braided frogging, buttons, cords and tassels, evoking the sumptuous uniforms worn by officers of the Imperial Guard during the Second Empire.

This 2015 edition marked the design's first appearance in the large 140 cm cashmere and silk format.

Presented in the particularly elegant Blanc / Noir / Mastic colorway, this is, in our opinion, one of the most sophisticated palettes ever produced for this design. The restrained combination of ivory-white, black, grey and soft mastic emphasizes the extraordinary detail of the military ornamentation and gives the shawl a timeless, almost monochromatic elegance.

Rare and increasingly difficult to find in this colorway, especially in such exceptional condition. A superb collector's piece preserved in mint condition with its original Hermès box.
